Get ready for our annual International Day at Somerville, happening on Tuesday, April 21st! This hallmark event invites all families to join in celebrating our community's diverse cultures and backgrounds. This year’s theme will be Sports from Around the World. This will be a wonderful opportunity for everyone to learn about the sports that are important from different cultures and countries. Sign Up HERE to learn more and get involved.
During the day the children will visit the booths in the Somerville Gym between the hours of 9AM-3PM to learn about “Sports from Around the World” at the various parent-led presentations. Then, to cap off our wonderful day, we invite everyone to Ridgewood High School Campus Center at 6PM for some wonderful cultural performances followed by delicious Foods from Around the World in the Cafeteria at 7PM.
There are 3 ways you can participate:
Country Presentation on Sports: Set up a table and trifold and let classes visit throughout the day for a parent-led presentation all about sports from your country!
Evening Performance: Lead your child or a group of children from your country in a performance - whether it be a dance, a poetry reading, or a singing performance - come prepared to showcase your country's culture.
Evening Food Tasting: Delight the taste buds! Prepare or purchase a culinary delight from your culture to share with attendees.
